Children and safety education
Learning how to identify and manage risks is an essential part of a child’s development.
There are, however, a huge range of myths and misconceptions as to what is, and is not allowed, which can cause people to make false assumptions.
Myths, fear of legal action, media hype, and Health and Safety providing a convenient excuse when other reasons are actually to blame, all help fuel the ‘cotton wool culture’ in which children are now growing up.
Emphasis needs to be brought back to what is best for the learning and development of young people.
